Do I need to have completed the Basic AV course first?
Not necessarily — but you need working knowledge of Premiere Pro. If you've never used it, start with the Basic AV course. If you've been editing in Premiere for 6–12 months independently, you likely have the foundation needed. Not sure? Talk to us on WhatsApp and we'll help you assess your level before you commit.
Do I need to buy Adobe After Effects or Audition?
No. All Adobe software — Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects 2024, Audition 2024, and Media Encoder — is pre-installed on classroom computers. No subscriptions required. Bring a USB drive (16GB+) for saving and submitting project files.
Is After Effects difficult to learn from scratch?
After Effects has a steeper learning curve than Premiere Pro — but Modules 4 and 5 introduce it from fundamentals before moving to compositing and VFX. If you understand Premiere's timeline and keyframing concepts, After Effects becomes accessible. Most students find the Dynamic Link integration in Module 4 the fastest way to understand the relationship between the two tools.
What if I miss a session?
You need 75% attendance for certification — that means up to 3 missed sessions across 2 months. Late assignments are accepted within one week with a 10% deduction. If you know you'll miss a session, notify your instructor in advance so they can help you stay on track.
Is this certificate recognised by AICTE or universities?
No — the SkillXcelerate Certificate is a professional skills credential, not affiliated with AICTE or any government body. For roles in video editing, motion graphics, and post-production, employers care about your showreel and technical skills — both of which you build and demonstrate within the course itself.
What do I need to bring to class?
A USB storage device (16GB minimum) for saving and submitting project files. All software is on classroom machines. Optional: a notebook for Module 1's media management principles and Module 10's client project management session.
How does this compare to YouTube tutorials on After Effects?
YouTube teaches isolated techniques. This course teaches professional workflow — how the tools connect, how deliverables are structured, and how a real project moves from proxy edit through colour grade to After Effects compositing to Audition audio to final export. The assignments, instructor feedback, and capstone film are what YouTube can't give you.
My parents think ₹9,999 is too much. How do I explain it?
This is 50 classroom hours — ₹400 per session — with live instructor feedback and a showreel you build before you graduate. MAAC and Arena Animation charge ₹25,000–₹80,000 for similar training. You're welcome to visit the classroom and meet the instructor before committing — your parents can come and see it for themselves.
